Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)

A CHT specializes in treating hand, arm, and shoulder conditions. A CHT is required to demonstrate continued professional development and competency (with at least 80 hours of practice enhancement and continuing education) by recertification every five years.

  • Modalities (heat, cold, ultrasound, electrical stim, combination therapy, contrast baths, pneumatic device)
  • Occupational conditioning, work simulation, general conditioning programs

Creates custom Orthotic Fabrication

  • Thermoplastic, custom fabricated splints for a variety of conditions

Client Centered Education done regularly

  • Injury prevention/avoidance, joint, nerve and tendon protection
  • The importance of posture as it relates to each condition
  • Individualized home exercise programs, symptom management
